Via Bylong: a celebration of the Bylong Valley Way

Experience one of Australia's ten best drives: the Bylong Valley Way.

Call in at the Bylong Sports Ground opposite the Bylong General Store and see for yourself the beauty of the place locals call 'paradise valley'. There'll be:

  • Hall of History showcasing the valley's rich history in photographs and newspaper clippings
  • Music
  • Bush poetry
  • Food
  • Market stalls featuring local wines and produce
  • Bus tours of the local area
  • Saturday night bonfire

You can even make a weekend of it with camping available (suggested donation for campers is $10).

Fairfax's Drive lists the Bylong Valley Way amongst Australia's Top 10 Drives:

Not far from the Central West city of Mudgee, the Bylong Valley Way links the towns of Ilford and Sandy Hollow [via Bylong], and has an engaging mix of stunning scenery and challenging driving roads – so whether you’re the driver or the passenger, you’re going to enjoy the ride.

It’s a great combination of wide open stretches and twisty climbs, and the road can get a bit rough at times. Some challenging hairpins and tight bends will also keep you on your toes.

The Bylong Valle is a beautiful place with a wonderful history.
The government should not allow it to be ripped up for coal mining.
We need to ensure that there is ‘No Coal Mining in the Bylong Valley’.
